Jennifer Lucas was a treasured member of the Clifton Public Schools community, serving the students she adored for nearly 30 years. She began in Clifton in 1995 as an elementary music teacher in Schools 9, 11, and 12, inspiring countless students to embrace the ways music expands imagination and connects people.
She rose to Assistant Principal of the School 12 Annex and, in 2010, became the beloved Principal of School 2. Even after leaving the classroom she never abandoned music, often playing piano at school assemblies and gatherings. Described by many as a second parent, she offered compassion, warmth, and wisdom to students, colleagues, and families alike. She led the annual Safety Patrol trip to Washington, DC, and her presence will be felt throughout the district whenever music fills the air.
The Clifton Education Foundation is honored to administer the Jennifer Lucas Memorial Scholarships, established by the Lucas family, awarding two scholarships to deserving Clifton High School seniors pursuing a career in education or music.
